Where the unit goes

Memphis units go on private lots, driveways or fenced yards in most cases. The truck needs firm access within hose reach.

Work in the Memphis street right-of-way, including a street cut, needs a permit from the city. See permits.

Permits and city rules

The city's right-of-way permits cover street cuts and road closures. Its pages do not list fees or processing times, so confirm both before you book.

FAQs

Common questions

Memphis questions, sorted by how often callers raised them.

Do I need a permit for a porta potty?

The City pages I read do not say whether a porta potty needs a permit in Memphis. For work in the street, the City's Land Development Office handles street cut permits through the 901 Portal, reachable at (901) 636-6700. Ask that office whether a porta potty placed on a street or sidewalk needs a permit.

How do I schedule a pickup?

Call (901) 545-5710 with a removal date, and the pickup is scheduled. Any pickup we miss goes to the hauler the same business day.

How does billing work?

Memphis rentals stay on 28-day billing until the project is finished, at the quoted rate. Net 30 terms are available for qualified contractor accounts. Memphis quotes show taxes and extra service on separate lines.

How fast can you deliver a porta potty?

About 52% of Memphis-area orders last year were delivered within a day of booking. Event dates on a fixed day need a few days of lead time.

How far ahead should I book for an event?

Half of Memphis-area orders were booked one day or less before delivery, and a quarter seven or more days out. For June, September or October weekends, or Cooper-Young, book two weeks ahead.

Can I put a porta potty on my driveway?

Often, yes. Driveways and side lots are common spots for Memphis units. The truck must reach the unit from your own drive, so tell us about gates, low spots and sewer lines when you order.

How often do you service the units?

Memphis units are cleaned, pumped and restocked on a weekly visit. Heavier crews can book an extra visit each week, quoted separately.

Do you service on weekends?

Yes, for an extra charge. Weekend visits can be added to a Memphis rental, and the quote shows the price.

Do porta potties work in winter?

Freezes are a real part of the season here, about 44 nights a year. Each unit is treated with antifreeze before winter, so it keeps working through the cold.
